President Trump threatens new tariffs on remaining Chinese imports

Updated: Aug 6, 2019

A CNBC article from Friday, August 2nd stated President trump threatened that on Thursday, September 1st a 10% tariff will be added to the remaining $300 billion of Chinese imports.

The new tariff will affect consumer goods including apparel, electronics and more. It is still uncertain if the new tariffs will affect more than just consumer goods. You can read the full article by clicking here

Due to the short notice it seems most companies will not have sufficient time to avoid the tariffs.

This could cause another round of expedited shipments by retailers which will cause further congestion at the Ports of Long Beach and Los Angeles. Similar to the issue that occurred in May during the round 3 tariff increase.
