Houston terminals shut down in response to hurricane Laura

The Houston Port Authority announced that Bayport and Barbours Cut container terminals have been shut down since August 25th and are currently closed until further notice hurricane Laura.


Hurricane Laura was expected to be a category 3 hurricane by the time it impacts the Texas and Louisiana coasts, but reached category 4 right before it hit.


Surrounding warehouses and factories have shutdown operations with a possibility of returning on Friday August, 28th. Vessels calling to the port of Houston will face arrival and departure delays due to the impact of the storm.
